The Vitovska is a native grape of the Carso-Karst wine area.
There is no other trace in the Mediterranean regions and its history has been lost in the folds of the centuries of local tradition. Old and rustic vine, able to withstand the Bora, the cold wind from the northeast, the harsh winters and drought of the hot season. It was reborn thanks to a clever work of recovery by some producers who believed in its potential. It produces a wine that intrigues, modern for its refinement and elegance.
Pale yellow color, the nose opens to the hints of underbrush, musk and wet rock, flowers and hay, the mineral note is accentuated. The mouth is wide and good looking, vertical, rigorous and calls for a food matching. Widely used as an aperitif, it goes well all with all the appetizers, seafood, sushi and grilled vegetables.
ONAVÈ takes the name from the statement in Slovenian “ona ve“ meaning "she knows" , because at the tasting this wine make us feel its elegance and self-confidence about its potential.
